Destiny update: Bungie talk Rise of Iron announcement and Xbox One and PS4 DLC SIZE

DESTINY: Rise of Iron updates have been announced by Bungie who have confirmed the size of the new DLC for PS4 and Xbox One.

The studio have outlined how they will be revealing the new Destiny expansion ahead of it September 20 release date.

Community manager David Dague has confirmed that Bungie will be favouring big drops of information, instead of small teasers being released weekly.

“Curious for more information about Rise of Iron? We certainly hope you are, and we promise that we’ll get to that, too,” Dague wrote to fans.

“Rather than trickle out one new detail each week here on the blog, we’ll save them up for some appropriately explosive moments throughout the summer."

It appears likely that Bungie will be hosting new livestream events for fans to learn more about the Destiny: Rise of Iron in the coming months, the studio themselves have kept relatively quiet about a lot of the DLC’s details so far.

Something that has been confirmed is the size of content fans can expect on Xbox One and PS4.

Destiny producer Scott Taylor spoke more on the subject recently, revealing that it wouldn’t rival the Taken King in size but would provide more than the House of Wolves.

"The way we think of it is like this; we released House of Wolves last May which was $20 and then we released The Taken King which was $40,” he said.
"Looking at all aspects we think Rise of Iron fits really nicely in the middle of those two.

"If you look at House of Wolves - which I also executive produced - and compare that to Rise of Iron, we didn't have a raid, we didn't have cut-scenes or cinematics and we didn't have a new zone which brings a whole new look to Earth with different enemies.”

Destiny: Rise of Iron will be available exclusively on the current generation consoles, a policy that will be continued into the future by Bungie.

This will affect the path Guardians will take in the future, developers have confirmed that they will continue to support players who elect not to upgrade their console hardware but that could mean missing out on new content.
